Six Bucket List Photoshoots

If you’ve read my other blog posts, get ready for something a little bit different! Today we’re talking about six of my must do sessions! These are themed shoots I am DYING to bring to life! I see so much magic and life in the ideas I’m about to share and if there’s one thing I’ve learned over the years, it’s that when you have a creative spark that pulls you in a specific direction, you’re meant to follow it! The most incredible photos come from a place of passion.

If you find yourself drawn to any of my ideas and would love to be part of it, send me an email! Whether you are a vendor and want to contribute items like flowers, location, clothing, food, etc., OR if you’d love to book one of these sessions, I want to hear from you! Let’s make magic :) I heard these sessions might even be discounted!

Starting off with a shoot that is the true definition of the heart eyes emoji…

sunset Picnic on the beach

Oh my gosh am I ever dying to shoot a playful picnic on the beach as the sun sets! Story time for you. Every single shoot that I booked in my first year as a photographer took place at the beach. Isn’t that nuts?! Every. Single. Shoot. As a beach girl at heart, I was over the moon! Fast forward… I have only had a handful of beach sessions since then! What are the chances?

I am itching to get back to the water and create some magic with a cotton candy sky and a fun-loving pair that loves to snack and play together in the water! It’s an “If you’re a bird, I’m a bird” type of thing. I shot a session very similar to what I’m describing back in 2021 and the images are some of my favourite to date.

A Couple… on dirtbikes

Okay, this one is for a very specific pair, I know! But as a Supercross fan (anyone else rooting for Roczen or Craig?!) and a retired trail-rider, this one has been on my photo bucket list for YEARS!

Bikes are a whole vibe and to put it simply, this shoot would be sick! We can head out to Seddons and take some badass photos in your gear while you prep to ride together. You’ll get your riding pants, boots, jersey and helmet on and I’ll guide you through some fun mini games together while you prep. Of course, we’ll get you riding too! Picture playing on bikes in the sandpits on a hot summer day with your lover… um yes!

Greenhouse Blooms

To sum this idea up in one word… it’s dreamy!! This session is for a couple or a family with young kiddos that loves to slow down and smell the flowers. Think sweet romance. Greenhouses are an indicator that spring has sprung and they represent a fresh season and new growth to me. How incredible do minimal and sweet moments in a beautiful greenhouse sound? These types of images are so incredibly timeless and precious. I’m so drawn to capturing sweet springtime memories.

Blue hour Country-side car ride

Calling my car couples! Let’s head out and tell a story about a free-spirited pair. The inspo for this shoot is a young, wild and free kind of love (cue Snoop, Wiz and Bruno haha!). Picture driving fast with the windows down and the wind in your hair. Pulling over to watch the golden sky turn pink in your jean shorts and sharing some carefree moments with the car’s headlights shining as the sky gets dark.

I had the pleasure of shooting part of this idea for a portion of an engagement shoot, but I’d love to expand on it and stretch it into a full session! I’ve already got the perfect spot in mind for us.

Retro Rollerskating

How amazing is it to have real moments captured? A family or a couple could work for this idea! And BONUS: it’s a great family or couple date aside from photos.

Let’s head to Wheelies! Do you need to be a pro? No! Do you need to have any skill at all? No! You can be a total newbie to roller-skates and still come out for this session. You’ll skate around while I take some fun photos. The vibe is retro and nostalgic and the cherry on top is that you’ll get out and do something that is (likely) new to you! But who knows, maybe you have a passion for rollerskating already :)

Sunsets & Sailboats

I have been dreaming up this shoot for a few years and I’m dying to finally bring it to life at the most romantic location! This shoot is for a couple that loves the water, but prefers not to be in it. We’ll shoot on docks that are surrounded by the most picturesque sailboats. It really looks like a movie scene! I’m picturing a refined look for these photos. A flowy romantic dress, a button up shirt and trousers rolled up at the bottom. I can see it so clearly! The spot I’ve got in mind has some super cute shops surrounding it, so maybe we’ll go on an ice cream stroll down the streets after capturing some magic at the docks.

Bonus Idea - Cozy Cabin

Okay, I lied. It turns out that I have seven must do sessions! A cozy cabin session in any season is on my bucket list. How cute would cabin photos of a snuggly low-key couple be? Making a feel good dinner, sitting by the wood burning fire bundled up in blankets and hanging out in the nature around the cabin. I can feel the comfort hitting me already! If you love the idea but you don’t have a cabin, let’s AirBNB it! You can even turn it into a little getaway with your partner and have a quiet night together outside of the city. How special is that?!
